Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Validation Engineer to lead post-silicon validation and characterization of high-performance RF and mixed-signal ICs. This role requires strong RF fundamentals, deep lab expertise, and the ability to architect automated validation frameworks. The candidate will drive silicon bring-up, ensure datasheet compliance, and collaborate cross-functionally from development through production release.

Responsibilities 

• Lead RF post-silicon validation of LNAs, Driver amplifiers, RF switches, PAs, beamformers, and transceivers.
• Own characterization of key RF parameters including:
  • S-parameters (Gain, Return Loss, Isolation),Smith chart,  Noise Figure, IIP3 / OIP3, P1dB, Phase Noise, EVM, ACPR, Harmonics and Spurious emissions
• Perform CW, pulsed, modulated and timing validation where applicable.
• Execute validation across voltage, temperature, and process corners.
• Drive silicon bring-up and perform deep root cause analysis of performance deviations.
• Correlate silicon data with simulation results and identify layout, biasing, stability, or measurement-related issues.
• Define and improve RF lab setups including calibration and de-embedding methodologies (SOLT, TRL, ECal).
• Architect and develop automation frameworks using Python (PyVISA, SCPI) for scalable validation.
• Support production, Test handover and characterization correlation.
• Generate comprehensive validation reports and data summaries.
• Drive setup improvements for low-noise and guarded measurements.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate validation planning.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics engineering.
• 8-10 years of experience in RF Bench Validation and Characterization.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: impedance matching, stability Analysis, noise mechanisms, and linearity concepts.
• Extensive hands-on experience with VNAs, spectrum/signal analysers, RF signal generators, power meters, and noise figure setups.
• Experience in debugging bench setup and writing instrument drivers.
• Understanding of lab instruments like power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, PNAx, ZNA etc.
• Knowledge of ESD and instrument maintenance is essential.

 

Preferred

• Exposure to automation-driven validation and large-scale characterization matrices.
• Experience in soldering small SMD components.
• Knowledge of communication protocols like SPI, I2C, I3C, SCPI, etc.
• Knowledge of PCB design.
