We are seeking a highly motivated Millimeter-Wave/RF Application Engineer to support the launch, adoption, and success of our cutting-edge mmWave front-end IC products. This role bridges design and customer enablement - helping customers achieve optimal chip performance through direct technical engagement, in-depth measurements, and practical solutions.
You will own the evaluation and application enablement of mmWave ICs, working side-by-side with customers and internal design teams to ensure best-in-class product performance and user experience. This position requires extensive hands-on work in the lab, high-precision RF measurements, and the ability to translate technical insights into datasheets, application notes, automation tools, and user interface solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, addressing chip operation, calibration, and performance optimization issues.
• Perform mmWave and RF measurements (S-parameters, NF, linearity, EVM/modulation, etc.) with high accuracy.
• Develop and automate test setups for evaluation kits (EVKs) for debugging and benchmarking purposes.
• Own and maintain product datasheets, ensuring all performance metrics, chip features, and application guidelines are accurate, validated, and customer-ready.
• Debug and reproduce customer-reported issues in the lab, working closely with IC design and test teams to identify and resolve root causes.
• Define and lead the EVK development process, including hardware, control interface, and GUI implementation for evaluation and demos.
• Generate application documentation, including test reports, reference designs, and user guides to support design-in activities.
• Provide hands-on customer training, bring-up assistance, and continuous enablement to accelerate product adoption.
• 5+ years of experience in RF/mmWave product characterization, applications, or validation engineering.
• Proven expertise in RF/mmWave test and debug, including accurate measurement of sparameters, noise figure, linearity, EVM/modulation.
• Proficient with lab instrumentation (e.g., PNA-X, spectrum analyzers, power sensors, signal generators, probe stations, ECal modules).
• Strong automation and scripting background (Python preferred); experience in GUI or test software development a plus.
• Experience with digital control interfaces (SPI, I2C, I3C, etc.), analog/mixed-signal features and on-chip sensor/monitoring operations.
• Solid understanding of RF front-end and beamforming circuits, communication system metrics, and system-level performance tradeoffs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; capable of translating complex results into clear customer-facing deliverables.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
