Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our automotive semiconductor and embedded solutions, with a strong focus on motor control, automotive lighting, microcontrollers, and power electronics.

Responsibilities 

    Translate complex customer requirements into actionable product specifications and feature requests for our internal R&D teams.
    Automotive Standards: Ensure all designs and recommendations adhere to strict automotive standards, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and AEC-Q100 reliability requirements.
    Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed root cause analysis on customer reported issues (Return Material Authorization - RMA) and provide timely technical closure.
    Application Notes: Author and publish technical application notes, white papers, and design guides for internal and external use.
    Competitive Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitive solutions, providing strategic feedback to marketing and product management teams.
    Relationship Management: Build and maintain deep technical relationships with key decision-makers and system architects at major automotive accounts.
    Tools Proficiency: Expert use of laboratory equipment, including high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
    Control Theory: Apply deep knowledge of FOC (Field Oriented Control), BLDC/PMSM motor control, and PWM dimming techniques for LED arrays.
    Software Ecosystems: Provide guidance on IDEs, compilers, RTOS, and AUTOSAR stacks commonly used in automotive MCU development.
    Collaborative Development: Work closely with cross-functional global teams (Sales, Marketing, Quality, and R&D) to ensure project milestones are met.
    Issue Tracking: Manage and document all customer technical interactions and bug reports using professional CRM and tracking tools.
    Product Launch: Participate in regional product launch events, providing hands-on technical demonstrations and expert support.
    Field Feedback: Act as the "voice of the customer," advocating for product roadmap improvements based on real-world field experience.
    Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites (up to 30–40%) to provide on-site technical consultation and debug support.

Requirements

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.
    Experience: 5+ years of experience in automotive electronics design or field application engineering with expereience in Motor Control and Lighting applications.
    Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming, schematic/PCB design (e.g., Altium, Cadence), and power electronics fundamentals.
    Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support for motor control algorithms, LED driver topologies, and microcontroller (MCU) architectures in automotive applications.
    Design-in Assistance: Collaborate with customers during the entire design-in cycle, from initial concept and system architecture to mass production.
    Customer Training: Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for customer engineering teams on our latest automotive-grade silicon and software tools.
    Hardware Validation: Perform board-level hardware debugging, including signal integrity analysis, thermal management, and EMI/EMC compliance testing.
    Software Debugging: Debug and optimize embedded C/C++ firmware, focusing on real-time control loops and peripheral drivers (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C).
    System Prototyping: Develop and demonstrate proof-of-concept hardware/software solutions to showcase performance advantages.
