We are seeking an experienced MCU Applications Engineer to support the development, integration, and deployment of microcontroller-based solutions for next-generation embedded systems. In this role, you will work closely with customers, software teams, and hardware engineers to enable successful adoption of our MCU products across automotive, industrial, consumer, and edge AI applications. You will be responsible for hardware bring-up, BSP development, peripheral enablement, application optimization, and customer support. This role requires a strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time software, and MCU architectures, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software integration challenges.
Customer Enablement: Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, supporting MCU evaluation, design-in activities, and product deployment.
Software Development: Develop and optimize firmware, board support packages (BSPs), device drivers, and middleware for MCU-based platforms.
Hardware Bring-Up: Support board bring-up, bootloader integration, peripheral initialization, and system validation for new hardware platforms.
Peripheral Integration: Enable and debug MCU peripherals including GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, USB, ADC, PWM, timers, and DMA controllers.
RTOS & Embedded Software: Develop and optimize software solutions using RTOS frameworks and bare-metal environments to meet real-time application requirements.
Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance, power consumption, memory utilization, and boot-time metrics to optimize end-product operation.
Reference Designs & Demos: Create evaluation platforms, demonstration applications, and reference designs to accelerate customer adoption.
Debug & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, firmware, and system-level issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and trace tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with silicon design, software, validation, product marketing, and applications teams to ensure successful product deployment.
Documentation & Training: Develop application notes, software examples, technical documentation, and customer training materials.
Product Feedback: Collect customer feedback and provide insights to architecture, software, and product teams to influence future MCU products and roadmap decisions.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, applications engineering, or MCU platform development.
MCU Expertise: Strong understanding of MCU architectures including ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, or equivalent embedded processor platforms.
Embedded Software: Hands-on experience with C/C++, embedded firmware development, bootloaders, BSPs, and device drivers.
RTOS Knowledge: Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, AUTOSAR, or similar real-time operating systems.
Peripheral Interfaces: Proven experience working with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, USB, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timer subsystems.
Debug Skills: Strong proficiency with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and software debugging tools.
Power & Performance Optimization: Familiarity with low-power design techniques, power management, and real-time performance tuning.
Development Tools: Experience with embedded IDEs, SDKs, compilers, source control systems, and CI/CD workflows.
Customer-Facing Skills: Ability to support technical customer engagements and communicate complex concepts effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-level integration challenges.
